The single element PRS has two litres of storage area.

The dual element PRS has six litres of storage area, and can include a freezer.

The dual element PRS in heat mode can produce 975 watts of silent radiant heat with more efficiency than a resistive heater.

TYPE PRS HEAT PUMP
The PRS is not an energy efficient version of the compressor refrigerator. But it provides a source of heat and cold without the use of propellants, and can be integrated into a home energy scheme.

The PRS makes use of commercially available Peltier blocks, solid state devices that convect when connected to a source of direct current.

Always on, the PRS is silent, free of compressor noises. Heat pumped out of the unit's cold box is dissipated through a ceramic element.

The PRS is designed to be integrated into a system of thermal management components.

How to Specify: The MIL TYPE PRS Peltier refrigerator and stove element can be ordered as a single or a dual element unit depending on the needs of the consumer.

A single element unit employs 1028 bismuth telluride pellets (btp) connected in a series/parralel configuration sufficient to dissipate 300 watts.

The second element in a dual element unit employs 2310 btps, and dissipates 675 watts. Ancillary heat and cold storage modules can be used to reduce entropy.

The PRS enclosure can be supplied in three media: carbon steel, plexiglas, and wood.

The PRS element is a circular ceramic slab with a radiant surface that dissipates the heat removed from the refrigeration enclosure. The radiant surface temperature will not exceed 100 degrees celsius. The chiller substrate draws heat from aluminum heat sinks that are fan coupled.

With a severe ambient heat load present, the PRS unit will maintain a level of cold of 10 degrees and 3 degrees celsius respective with no other thermal load present. Much lower temperatures are possible with the application of a divider to reduce the volume of the principal cooling area.

The MIL PRS is modular, and can be installed in an EIA rack. The PRS can be used with household current or 12vdc. The single element unit can be used to boil water or slow cook a meal, and a dual element unit can double as a space heater.
